Amala – a little girl

Amala

Amala is a little girl studying in 3rd class.

While going to school every day she was observing that during lunch time there were some snacks being sold just outside the school. There used to be a big line for it. Whenever she passed it, the smell was very much tempting.

She saw her friends also eating.

She asked Sujatha, her best friend “How does it taste?” Sujatha said “It tastes good “.

Amala also wanted to eat. Amala knew pretty well that her parents would not accept buying on roads.

She could not control her desire and one day she took few coins from almairah without informing parents. With that money in the afternoon during lunch time she bought the snack. She sat in a corner of the school to eat along with her friend Sujatha.

Amala started eating. The taste was not so great for her!!! Her mother made snack was much tastier than this.

She asked Sujatha “Is this snack tastes the same every day?”

Sujatha said “Yes of course!!”

Amala asked “I found the smell was too great but today the smell also was not so good and taste was not as much as I thought”

Sujatha said “May be your tongue and nose went wrong!! Every day it was same and today also same!!”

Amala some how could not eat much. Moreover she started feeling guilty that she did not tell her parents that she was taking money to buy the snack. This feeling made her the food in her hand still more tasteless. She gave the snack to a beggar.

She restlessly waited till evening bell rang.

She ran to house and she found surprisingly her father too at home who went out on office trip. She stood before parents keeping her face sorrowful. She felt she may not get all gifts that father might have brought for her from outside.

Father asked “What happened Amala?”

Amala said “I have some thing to say! I made a mistake of taking some coins without telling you to buy a snack at school. I am at fault, could you please excuse me!!”

She felt that her father would surely punish her.

Her father said her that Master would surely forgive her if she sincerely prayed to Him.

She sat and prayed for some time. She promised herself before Master that she would not get tempted like this any time. She felt lightness.

By the time she opened her eyes her mother was standing with her favourite kheer.

Amala got surprised!! Her father also opened all toys for her to play.

Her mother took her into hands. Her father said that they were happy to hear truth from their little daughter. Even if Amala didn’t tell they would not know as the coins were many in the box and no chance of knowing what she did. But she boldly said what she did.

She ate the sweet and went happily with toys to play with her friends.
