Four Brothers

Once upon a time, there were four sons to old parents. Their names are Somu, Ramu, Kalu, and Balu. They are good and cooperative but when they differ opinions they go towards four corners so every one in village used to call them  as East, West, North and South.

Every one tells them to be united but they never used to listen.

Once old father found their hut is falling on one side. Father asked his sons to bring some material from forest to rebuild the house. He gave four bags to four sons. Mother gave them some food.

All four of them left early in the morning. While going they decided Somu will collect wood, Ramu will collect sand from river bank in the forest and Kalu will collect some stones like bricks. They reached riverbank and started collecting. The fourth brother could not decide what to collect. He was sitting and thinking what to take back home to rebuild the house. He saw a tree full of fruits fallen on ground. He felt like eating them and filling in back to take home.  Mean while other brothers came to him.

All the three brothers said him that not to collect fruits, as they require some more material for house.

Kalu said you collect stones, as they are important to build the wall. Somu said collect sticks! We can cover the roof. Ramu said bring dry mud other wise the stones picked by Somu will not stand on its own. Balu did not like all these ideas.

Slowly the heat came in discussion and started shouting at each other. They left Balu and went three sides leaving each other.  Balu was happily picking up fruits.

After some time all of sudden, they heard roaring sound of Tiger and screaming   voice of Balu saying Tiger! Tiger!  All of them ran towards Balu. They saw it coming towards Balu.  Seeing the Tiger so much near he lost his conscious with fear. Tiger is almost pouncing on Balu.  Seeing this from distance all the three other brothers ran towards Balu from all corners with their bags.

Kalu threw stones on the Tiger. It saw towards Ramu. Then Ramu threw mud in its eyes. It got bewildered. Then Somu started beating with sticks he brought. Finally, Tiger ran away into forest.

The three brothers came to Balu. They brought water from river and sprinkle on his face. He woke-up. He was all right. They all hugged each other and took oath not to fight any more. They realised that all the materials are equally important to have strong house. Like how the material was useful to run away tiger. They decided from then onwards never separate themselves and give respect to each other ideas.

They all had fruits picked by Balu with food that mother gave.  They went back home happily.

They told the incident to their father. Father told them that “Unity gives strength to find adverse situations. “
